The role is based at Queen Mary's College where our fleet of minibuses reside, from this location Minibus Drivers are required to drive to various locations to collect and/or drop off students. The students will vary in age from primary school ages to teenager; the same care and respect is expected to be afforded to all.**Accountable to**: Louise Harvey, Business Support Manager**Purpose**To safely transport minibus passengers including college students and local school children to and from the College campus.**Key outcomes**- Safe transportation of passengers**Specific Responsibilities**- Responsibility for carrying out regular vehicle checks, fuelling and cleaning duties to specific standards- To log each journey- To liaise closely with the member of staff responsible for booking for the trip- To report any vehicle defects immediately to the Site Services Manager- To ensure that vehicle checks are carried out as necessary- To ensure compliance with Health and Safety including the Colleges Code of Practice on Safe Use of Minibuses.- To treat staff and students with dignity and respect at all times- To comply with college policies- Be willing to undertake training as necessary.**Qualifications**MIDAS Training (this can be provided)D1 on driving licence (essential)Clean driving licenceAll staff are subject to a Disclosure & Barring Service Check**CONTRACTUAL INFORMATION**BenefitsThis role attracts a number of benefits such as, use of the Sports Centre facilities, free onsite parking, complimentary beverages for all staff, related training and development, and a generous sickness and maternity package.**Salary:** £13.90 per hour, plus holiday (point 9 on the Sixth Form Colleges Support Staff pay scale).**Conditions of Service:** Sixth Form Colleges Support Staff**Normal working hours:** Casual, hours as agreedHours will normally be worked term-time between 8.30 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday to Friday. Evenings and weekends are possible but will be agreed in conjunction with staff.Holiday: As the role is casual and additional holiday allowance is paid separately on top of the hourly rate.**Other terms of employment:**The successful candidate will have the choice whether or not to join the Local Government Pension Scheme.
