Job summary

GAC Group in Grays is seeking a Casual Jetty Operator to support safe, compliant and efficient jetty operations for Marine & Terminal Services clients.

You will work to ensure vessels are safely berthed, moored and aligned with loading arms, manage connections, operate valves, and complete essential documentation while liaising with vessels, terminals and the MATS team. The role requires flexibility, outdoor work, and travel between sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' industry experience.
• Jetty or terminal experience desired but training provided.
• Full, clean driving license with access to transport.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring vessels are safely berthed, moored and aligned with loading arms.
• Pre-berth checks; connect/disconnect loading arms and hoses; crane support.
• Operate valves and monitor vessel discharge; ensure hourly/safety checks.
• Complete and distribute logs, checklists, handover reports, and security records.
• Act as a link between internal/external stakeholders; communicate professionally.
• Carry out security checks and submit documentation to appropriate parties.
• Participate in training; keep competencies up to date.
• Promote safety by reporting hazards, near misses, incidents and concerns.
• Travel to various sites to deliver terminal/marine services.
