Job summary

Gulf Agency Company in Grays is seeking a Casual Jetty Operator to support safe and efficient vessel operations. You will be involved in berthing, mooring, loading arms, hose handling, crane support, and daily compliance tasks.

We require a proactive safety mindset, a full clean driving licence, and willingness to travel between sites. This role offers training and exposure to a global shipping and marine services environment with varied shifts including days, nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ industry experience.
• Jetty or terminal experience desired but not essential with training.
• Good understanding of a proactive safety culture.
• Full, clean driving licence with access to your own transport.
• Able to work outdoors in a marine environment and perform operational duties.
• Willing to travel between sites; travel costs covered.

Responsibilities

• Ensure vessels are safely berthed, moored correctly, and aligned with shore connections.
• Carry out pre-berth checks and manage marine loading arms, hoses and crane operations.
• Operate valves and monitor vessel discharge, ensuring hourly and safety checks.
• Prepare and distribute documentation: checklists, logs, handover reports, security records.
• Act as a link between internal and external stakeholders with clear communication.
• Perform security checks within timescales and submit documentation to relevant parties.
• Participate in training, keep competencies up to date and maintain training records.
• Promote safety by reporting hazards, near misses, incidents and concerns.
• Travel to various locations to deliver terminal and marine services.
