Job summary

Dorset Council is seeking motivated individuals to support the Cycle Hire & Adventure Valley facilities. The role involves outdoor work on weekends, bank holidays and school holidays, in all weather conditions. You will manage day-to-day operations, ensure safety of cycles and equipment, and provide excellent customer service.

Training is provided for repairs and maintenance, with opportunities to develop skills and work within a supportive team focused on high standards and community impact.

Qualifications

  • Willingness to work weekends, bank holidays and school holidays.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out day-to-day operations at the Cycle Hire & Adventure Valley.
  • Open and close cycle hire and Adventure Valley facilities.
  • Check cycles and equipment to ensure safe hire.
  • Carry out basic repairs and maintenance following training.
  • Keep all areas clean and presentable and provide high standards of customer care.
  • Hire cycles and equipment and give information to visitors.
  • Handle cash and perform end-of-day cashing up procedures.

Job description

We are looking for highly motivated individuals with good communication skills to assist in the day to day running of our Cycle Hire & Adventure Valley Facilities. Candidates will be required to work Weekends, Bank Holidays and Dorset School Holidays, plus work outside in all weathers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out day to day operations at the Cycle Hire & Adventure Valley
  • Opening and closing of cycle hire & Adventure Valley facilities
  • Checking of cycles and other equipment to ensure they are safe to hire
  • Carry out basic repairs and maintenance tasks following appropriate training
  • Keep all areas of clean and presentable
  • Hire cycles and other equipment to a high standard of customer care
  • Give instruction and information to visitors about equipment and trails
  • Carry out cash handling and end of day cashing up procedures
  • Work outdoors in all weathers
  • Follow procedures and work within Health and Safety guidelines
