Job summary

Matthew Arnold School in Oxford is seeking a Casual Temporary Chef to support our catering team. You will plan menus, prepare, cook and serve meals for students and staff, and help deliver nutritious, high-quality meals.

You will supervise kitchen staff, manage stock and orders, support school events, and uphold health, safety and food hygiene standards. The role is 25–30 hours per week with core hours 09:30–14:30, starting immediately.

Qualifications

• Catering and stock-control experience required.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety.
• Ability to lead and motivate a kitchen team.
• Organised and reliable, able to work under pressure.

Salary: Grade 6(£16.52 - £17.90 per hour) FTE equivalent pay is £27,709 - £30,023 p.a
