Job summary

The Matthew Arnold School in England is seeking an enthusiastic Chef to join our catering team, delivering nutritious meals for students and staff and supporting school events.

You will plan menus, supervise kitchen staff, manage stock and orders, and ensure high standards of food hygiene and safety while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering and stock control.
• Strong knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety.
• Ability to lead and motivate a kitchen team.
• Organised and able to work under pressure.

Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Chef to join our catering team. You'll help deliver high-quality, nutritious meals for our students and staff, while supporting school events and leading the kitchen team. What you'll be doing:

• Planning menus and preparing, cooking and serving meals
• Supervising kitchen staff and maintaining high standards
• Managing stock and ordering supplies
• Catering for school events
• Supporting health, safety and food hygiene standards
  Is organised, reliable and works well under pressure
• Can lead and motivate a team
• Has catering and stock-control experience
• Has a good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety
• Takes pride in delivering excellent customer service
  Salary: Grade 6 (£16.52 - £17.90 per hour) FTE equivalent pay is £27,709 - £30,023 p.a

Hours: 25 -30 hours per week (Core working hours are 09:30 - 14:30)
