In this catering role, you will be responsible for all kitchen activities including cooking, organisation, and supervision of food service.
You will supervise staff working in the kitchen.
You must be familiar with HACCP procedures and ensure all paperwork, including electronic returns, is completed and submitted accordingly.
Understanding the dietary and nutritional needs of residents within the Care Home is essential.
Duties may also include transporting and serving meals, general kitchen and dining room duties (such as washing up, setting up, and clearing equipment and tables), and cleaning the kitchen and surrounding areas.
We currently have casual vacancies across Fife, including Care Homes in Dunfermline, Lumphinnans, Kirkcaldy, Methil, Anstruther, Glenrothes, and Cupar.
Enhancements are paid for unsociable hours and weekend work.
Casual staff may be asked to work any day of the week to cover for leave and absences, with some flexibility.
You will earn £12.59 per hour and have access to various benefits, including:
This role involves ensuring residents are provided with meals throughout the day.
Training on in-house systems will be provided. Working towards an Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate will be required once employed.
The Person
Do you have catering experience or a qualification such as an SVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent?
Before confirming your appointment, you will need to obtain PVG scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and join the relevant scheme.
Ability to provide a regular and effective service, working independently or as part of a team.
You will be required to attend induction training before starting in the role.
