Job summary

Junior Adventures Group is seeking a Childcare Activity Leader to run breakfast and after-school clubs at Montpelier Primary School. You’ll lead engaging activities, supervise groups of children aged 4–11, and help create a safe, welcoming environment before and after the school day.

Split-shift role with mornings 7:30–9:00 and afternoons 3:00–6:00, with potential for extra hours during Holiday Club and Lunchtime Cover.

Qualifications

• Experience in childcare or youth work is valued.
• Ability to design and run engaging activities for children.

Responsibilities

• Deliver age-appropriate activities such as multi-sports, arts & crafts, and group games.
• Set up safe, engaging play spaces and maintain cleanliness.
• Supervise children with care, ensuring inclusivity and safety.
• Prepare snacks and manage sign-in/out with a friendly approach.
• Work split shifts: 7:30–9:00am and 3:00–6:00pm; possible extra hours during Holiday Club and Lunchtime Cover.
• Be a collaborative team player and lead activities when needed.

This role is split shift, meaning you'll work mornings and afternoons, with a break in between (great for studying, hobbies, family, or even a nap!). You’ll also have the opportunity to increase your hours during Holiday Club seasons and Lunchtime Cover.

What you’ll do day-to-day:

• Deliver exciting, age-appropriate activities like multi-sports, arts & crafts, group games, and creative play.

• Supervise children with care and enthusiasm, ensuring every child feels welcome, safe, and included.
• Prepare snacks and manage sign-in/out processes with a friendly face and attention to detail.
• Work split shifts: 7:30–9:00am and 3:00–6:00pm, perfect for work-life balance or those seeking part-time fun!
• Be a team player who can also take the lead when needed.

What we’re looking for:

• Someone who loves working with children and brings a positive, can-do attitude
• A creative thinker who knows how to turn an ordinary afternoon into a magical experience
• A team player who’s also confident running activities and managing a group
• Bonus points if you have experience in teaching, coaching, childcare, or youth work (but not essential, personality goes a long way!)
