Job summary

Thornbury Castle invites an Assistant Restaurant Manager to join the 5‑star Food & Beverage team at a unique Tudor castle hotel near Bristol. You will oversee breakfast, afternoon tea, dinner and private functions while delivering memorable guest experiences.

The successful candidate will work 40 hours per week, mainly evenings and weekends, with opportunities for training and staff development; a competitive package including service charges is offered.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the UK; no visa sponsorship required.
• Experience with Relais & Châteaux or AA Rosette‑awarded restaurant is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, wines and spirits; relevant professional qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the F&B Operations Manager in running the department (breakfast, afternoon tea, dinner and functions up to 80 guests).
• Take accountability for all F&B operations in the absence of the F&B Operations Manager.
• Provide service at 2/3 rosette level; maintain Relais & Chateaux Rosette standards.
• Handle guest queries and recommendations for drinks and menus; manage allergies.
• Assist with rotas, recruitment and staff management; supervise staff at all levels.
• Develop and train staff on hotel standards and procedures.
• Ensure financial and HR procedures are followed within the department.
