Caseworker – Warwickshire Road Safety Unit

Salary: £24,222.00 - £25,626.00

Role Purpose

The main purpose of the role is to provide efficient clerical and administrative duties necessary to progress camera offences from identification, issuing the original Notice of Intended Prosecution, through to disposal.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Retrieve information from all forms of Camera Detection Devices and media.
  2. Accurately view, process and interpret offences and perform secondary checks if necessary. Input/import from original offence onto the appropriate national system (e.g., EROS/Pentip).
  3. Update and validate all stages of offence system records for Notice of Intended Prosecution, Section 172 request for information, in accordance with legislative and organisational requirements. Check and verify data accuracy, correcting errors during processing, utilising other Police systems.
  4. Respond appropriately to requests for information received in writing or by telephone from various sources, including Notice recipients, Offenders, third parties, Solicitors, Courts, and other stakeholders.
  5. Supply information in accordance with protocols, legal requirements, maintaining security and within deadlines.
  6. Manage/record out-of-court disposal options for detected offences, such as approved National Driver Retraining courses and Fixed Penalty outcomes.
  7. Research and collate offender details, ensuring both Force and National IT systems are updated accurately to maintain complete offender histories.
  8. Prepare prosecution files for detected offences within set timescales and in accordance with Single Justice Procedures.
  9. Potentially give evidence of the administration process in Court.
  10. Undertake other duties as appropriate to the role's responsibilities and grading.
Knowledge & Experience
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Interest/knowledge of road safety issues and casualty reduction.
  • Experience working as part of a team.
  • Ability to process information accurately and efficiently.
  • Experience working in a customer service environment.
Key Skills
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines, managing workload and balancing demands.
  • Accurate data input, filing, and retrieval skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft packages or equivalents.
