Caseworker – Warwickshire Road Safety Unit

Location: Rugby

Contract Type: Permanent

Employment Type: Full Time

Salary: £24,222.00 - £25,626.00

Role Overview

The main purpose of this role is to provide efficient clerical and administrative support to progress camera offences, from identification to disposal, including issuing Notices of Intended Prosecution.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Retrieve information from various Camera Detection Devices and media.
  2. View, process, and interpret offences accurately, performing secondary checks if necessary. Input data onto systems such as EROS/Pentip.
  3. Update and validate offence records for Notices of Intended Prosecution and Section 172 requests, ensuring compliance with legislative and organisational standards. Check and correct data errors using Police systems.
  4. Respond appropriately to written or telephone requests for information from notice recipients, offenders, third parties, solicitors, courts, and other stakeholders.
  5. Provide information in accordance with protocols and legal requirements, maintaining security and meeting deadlines.
  6. Manage out-of-court disposal options, including driver retraining courses and fixed penalty outcomes.
  7. Research offender details to ensure all records are complete and updated across Force and National IT systems.
  8. Prepare prosecution files within set timescales, adhering to Single Justice Procedures. May be required to give evidence in court.
  9. Undertake other duties as appropriate to the role’s level and responsibilities.
Knowledge and Qualifications
  • Minimum Grade GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Interest or knowledge of road safety and casualty reduction.
Experience
  • Teamwork experience.
  • Ability to process information accurately and efficiently.
  • Experience working in a customer service environment.
