Job summary

A new organisation in the UK is seeking candidates to assist eligible Afghans in transitioning to their new lives following their support of the UK mission in Afghanistan. The role demands analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and adherence to strict policies, enhancing the lives of those in need.

• Induction onsite (London) potentially for 10 days, then hybrid. Candidate must be local to London.

• Office attendance 1-3 days per week, minimum, on site, as required for Business needs.

• No travel expenses – Candidates need to be local to Whitehall.

The client is a new organisation set up to manage the process for supporting eligible Afghans who supported the UK mission in Afghanistan over the past 20 years to come to the UK, and once here to be assisted to begin their new lives with their families. It is important and rewarding work, supporting one of Defence’s highest priorities and reports directly into the Permanent Secretary.

• Experience in using government policy to make decisions.
• Experience of working to strict policies and procedures.
• Ability to clearly articulate and justify decisions based on policy.
• Experienced in working to tight deadlines in high pace and sensitive operational environment.

• Competent with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, PP, Excel, Teams etc.).
• Exposure to graphic/disturbing material and stories. Requirement to discuss up front with candidates to ensure they are resilient and ok with this.
• Ideally need candidates who are in similar roles.
• Need to be able to stick to policy. To make decisions based on policy, not on emotion.
• Experience dealing with complex cases.
