Job summary

BCUHB North Wales seeks Band 6 District Nursing Caseload Holders on a permanent basis, 37.5 or 30 hours per week, across South Wrexham Locality in Llangollen and Rhos. The post works across District Nursing Teams and reports to the Band 7 Team Leader.

Essential criteria include NMC registered first level nurse, District Nursing qualification (certificate, diploma, degree or current study), and Nurse Prescribing qualification (or working towards). Welsh language ability is desirable.

Job Overview

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM STAFF CURRENTLY EMPLOYED BY BETSI CADWALADR UNIVERSITY HEALTH BOARD We currently have vacancies for a 37.5 hour and 30 hour permanent Band 6 Caseload Holders within South Wrexham Locality based across Llangollen and Rhos District Nursing Teams. The successful applicant will need to have excellent communication skills with an ability to provide effective, high-quality care. The post holder will also be expected to work across both District Nursing Teams. The post holder will be responsible to the Band 7 Team Leader.

Main duties of the job

The post holder must hold a Community Specialist Practitioner qualification and be a registered Nurse Prescriber. Applications will also be considered from Community Nurses who are currently undertaking their Specialist Practitioner qualification in District Nursing. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential Criteria

• NMC Registered first level nurse
• District Nursing / Certificate, diploma, degree or working towards
• Nurse prescribing qualification or working towards
• Evidence of ongoing education and professional development
• Mentorship and assessment training

Desirable criteria

• Management qualification e.g. ILM, RCN Leadership
• Independent Prescribing - Following successful completion of the required qualification and annotation on the professional register, undertake Independent Prescribing (IP) for any medical condition within area of competence. Responsible and accountable for own independent prescribing practice in accordance with BCUHB Policies and Professional Codes at all times Maintain knowledge, skills and competency and escalare accordingly if outside scope of practice or competence

• Community experience as Band 5 or equivalent
