Base pay range

The HCPC is seeking experienced Case managers who genuinely care about protecting the public and upholding regulatory standards across healthcare to join their Fitness to Practise team. We currently have a number of Permanent and Fixed term roles that we are recruiting to and we are particularly interested in applicants with strong investigating, communication and organisational skills
Purpose and Main Duties
This is a critical role within the Fitness to Practise team, where our Case Managers gather and assess information to ensure that the right regulatory action is taken to manage any risk to public protection. Our colleagues need to be empathetic and aware of our aim of being a compassionate regulator in all of our interactions.

The role operates in a highly pressurised and collaborative environment where individuals contribute to the team. However, Case Managers are also personally responsible for their own case work and for maintaining high standards of performance and professional practice, meeting challenging objectives around quantity, quality, timeliness, impact and customer service.

Case Managers are expected to operate with minimal guidance and supervision, demonstrating a high degree of resilience and confidence in their work. As we receive high volumes of complaints, case managers are expected to demonstrate effective workload management skills and proportionate decision making.

Some key primary duties and responsibilities include:

  • Planning and investigating a varied caseload, effectively progressing cases through to the next stage of investigation in a timely fashion.
  • Proactively progressing enquiries, ensuring all necessary information and evidence is obtained and made available for the Investigating Committee Panel in line with set service standards and key performance indicators.
  • Working constructively with our external stakeholders to ensure that your cases are proactively progressed in line with our policies, guidance and processes.
  • Accurately assessing the risk presented in fitness to practise cases and ensuring that high-risk cases are quickly identified, prioritised and progressed for an Interim Order in line with service standards and key performance indicators.
  • Analysing information and making sound, evidence-based decisions on the progression or conclusion of cases, ensuring any changes in risk are quickly identified as the case progresses and develops.
Candidate Requirements
A wide range of backgrounds are welcome and encouraged, and we are most interested in finding people with experience in the regulatory sector who can provide agile, high-quality customer service, and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. Experience of working in a fast-paced, high pressure environment, with demonstrable experience of case management, the ability to assess information from different sources and make evidenced-based, transparent recommendations is essential.

The successful candidates will have experience of effectively managing their own case load and high volumes of varying tasks and responsibilities. An ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders is essential. In addition to this, they will also have demonstrable experience of analysing large volumes of complex information and identifying the salient points. Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills will also be key to this role.

Further information on this role is detailed in the job description and person specification.

As part of the application process, along with a copy of your most up to date CV please submit a supporting statement explaining the reasons why you should be considered for this role and what demonstrable experience you will bring based on the person specification. In your covering letter it will be beneficial if you are able to indicate whether you would like to be considered for the fixed term contract roles, the permanent roles or both.

Closing Date: Monday 07 July 2025 at 1pm

Interview Dates: Week commencing 21 July 2025

Please be advised we will be shortlisting and interviewing candidates as and when applications are submitted and therefore candidates are encouraged to submit their application as soon as possible before the closing date. We reserve the right to closing this advert prior to the advertised closing date in the event we receive high volumes of applications.
