Job summary

DivalentineCalver Recruitment LTD is sourcing an experienced Case Maker / DG Specialist Packer for our client in Colnbrook. The role focuses on manufacturing timber cases and packing high-value, fragile and specialist equipment for road, air and sea freight.

You will work 8:00am–5:00pm, Monday–Friday, in a busy packing and logistics operation with overtime opportunities and a benefits package including bonus and healthcare.

Qualifications

• Proven experience manufacturing wooden cases or crates.
• Experience packing high-value or sensitive equipment.
• Experience handling heavy, fragile or awkward items.
• Good practical skills with hand and power tools.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• A strong understanding of safe working practices.
• The ability to work accurately from measurements, drawings and instructions.
• A reliable and responsible approach to your work.
• Experience with dangerous goods, export packing, ISPM 15 timber packaging, air/sea freight and forklift operation is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manufacturing timber cases, crates, skids and pallets to specification.
• Measuring, cutting and assembling timber using hand and power tools.
• Packing high-value, fragile and specialist equipment.
• Preparing goods for road, air and sea freight.
• Securing items using blocking, bracing, strapping and protective materials.
• Packing and preparing dangerous goods in accordance with the relevant requirements and company procedures.
• Applying appropriate shipping and handling marks.
• Working from drawings, dimensions and packing instructions.
• Carrying out final quality checks before dispatch.
• Safely handling heavy and awkward items using appropriate equipment.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Completing relevant packing and dispatch documentation.

Job description

Our client is looking for an experienced Case Maker / DG Specialist Packer to join their busy packing and logistics operation.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced packer or case maker who is confident working with high-value, fragile, heavy, specialist and dangerous goods and understands the importance of ensuring items are properly protected and secured for transportation.

Salary: £30,000–£40,000 per annum + overtime

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
