Job summary

Green & Wolvin Recruitment is seeking an experienced Export Packer / Case Maker in Leicestershire. The role focuses on preparing export packing, building bespoke timber cases, and using woodworking machinery for international shipments.

Candidates should have experience in export packing, knowledge of international packing methods, and be able to work in a fast-paced logistics environment. Forklift license is desirable. Commuting to Leicestershire is expected.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in export packing processes ideally for a cargo handler.
• Knowledge of safe packing methods for international transportation across air, road, and sea freight.
• Commutable to Leicestershire.
• FLT licence desirable.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and carrying out export packing processes for domestic and international transportation.
• Building bespoke timber cases, crates and packaging solutions to meet specific packing requirements for export airfreight.
• Using woodworking machinery, including circular saws, panel saws, nail guns and handheld power tools.
• Accurately interpreting measurements and dimensions to ensure packaging is manufactured to the required specifications.
• Safely handling heavy, oversized, fragile and high-value cargo.
• Loading and unloading freight safely and following appropriate manual handling procedures.
• Following packing instructions and maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy and attention to detail.
• Working independently and as part of a busy Export Packing and Cargo Handling team to meet changing priorities and deadlines.

We are actively looking to engage experienced export packing professionals with a background in woodworking and bespoke case making for a new role as an experienced Export Packer / Case Maker in Leicestershire. This role is a position based across Monday to Friday during office hours.

Client Details

My client is a SME freight forwarding business, with huge ambitions for growth, in the freight & shipping industry. You will be joining a fast-paced environment assisting in finding logistics solutions for some of the world's largest industrial, retail & FMCG based customers. My client is a multi-modal freight business operating from a bonded customs premises, specialising in export packing and cargo handling. You will be joining a busy team responsible for preparing and protecting goods for domestic and international transportation, ensuring cargo is packed securely and in accordance with the required specifications and quality standards.

Job Description

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience in export packing processes ideally for a cargo handler.
• Skilled in woodworking and case-making
• Experience using woodworking machinery, including various saws and handheld power tools.
• Knowledge of safe packing methods for international transportation across air, road, and sea freight.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to work to packing specifications.
• FLT (Forklift Truck) licence and previous logistics experience are desirable.
• Commutable to Leicestershire.
