Abingdon and Witney College is seeking an experienced Carpenter/Joiner educator to deliver practical and theory-based training at the Bicester Campus. You will assess apprentices, support their progression, and contribute to high-quality learning aligned with industry standards.
The role requires delivering workshops, maintaining strong employer links, and promoting professional behaviours and skills among learners.

The Bicester Construction Skills Centre is designed specifically for apprentices, existing tradespeople, and employers. Supported by modern workshops, industry-standard machinery, and state-of-the-art facilities, our Carpentry & Joinery provision delivers high-quality training to apprentices and adult learners, helping them develop the skills employers value most.

Any successful candidates will be required to complete a structured training pathway, unless they already hold the relevant qualifications. This includes a two-week teacher induction (must be completed within probation), followed by the Award in Education and Training (AET) including Assessor is required, and then the Level 5 Learning and Skills Teacher (LST) apprenticeship. Completion of this structured learning programme is expected within 3 years. Furthermore, there is the option to pursue Qualified Teacher Learning Status (QTLS).
