Job summary

The City of Liverpool College in Liverpool is seeking a Carpentry and Joinery Technician to provide technical support within the Carpentry and Joinery Department, based at the Vauxhall Road Centre. The role requires maintaining and upgrading workshop facilities, supervising equipment, and training staff and students in safe practice.

Salary £27,598 - £29,911 per year, permanent contract, 35 hours per week, with a range that reflects the responsibilities and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Qualified in Carpentry & Joinery or related industry experience.
• Significant experience in a Carpentry & Joinery role.
• Knowledge of workshop equipment and machinery.
• Ability to guide and train colleagues in techniques.
• Good understanding of safety and maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to staff and students in Carpentry and Joinery.
• Supervise workshop spaces and maintain tools/equipment.
• Maintain inventory and ensure resources meet activity plans.
• Collaborate with Technician Supervisor on facilities upgrades.
• Demonstrate equipment use and teach safe techniques to staff and students.
• Assist with teaching support and setting up equipment for classes.
• Carry out maintenance and safety testing to keep equipment in good condition.
• Establish records for maintenance and stock levels.
• Support budgeting and resource management within area.
