An exciting and challenging position has arisen for a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Carpenter / Joiner, progressing to Level 3 within The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Support service installations and their maintenance are essential parts of the NHS and vital for healthcare provision. The main element of the apprenticeship involves practical site carpentry training to Level 2, progressing to Level 3. The apprentice will attend college and may spend time on external sites to complete the apprenticeship components.

Main duties of the job

The apprenticeship will start in the week commencing 25th August 2025, subject to all employment checks. Entry qualifications include a minimum of GCSE Grade 4, or equivalent, in at least 5 subjects, including Mathematics.

Job responsibilities

Applicants must meet all eligibility criteria for the apprenticeship.

To qualify, you must:

  • Have the right to work and remain in the UK.
  • Have resided in the UK for at least 3 years.
  • Provide original evidence of required English and maths qualifications.

Additional information:

  • You will not be considered if you have a similar or higher qualification in the same field.
  • You must not be enrolled in other funded training or education programs.
  • We cannot sponsor visa applicants; eligibility must be met.
