Job summary

Dovetail and Slate, a leading FE college in Northamptonshire, is seeking a Carpentry Assessor to guide apprentices through their qualifications and help them reach their full potential.

You will conduct workplace assessments, provide tailored feedback, and maintain e-portfolio records while coordinating visits with employers and training providers. The role emphasizes regulatory compliance and ongoing CPD to support learner success.

Qualifications

• Carpentry qualification at Level 3 or above.
• Assessor qualification (TAQA/CAVA/A1) or equivalent.
• Up-to-date industry knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct workplace assessments for Carpentry apprentices in line with apprenticeship standards.
• Provide tailored feedback and guidance to support learner progress.
• Monitor and record learner achievements using digital platforms/e-portfolios.
• Liaise with employers and training providers to coordinate assessment visits.
• Ensure assessments comply with awarding body and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of learner progress and outcomes.
