Job summary

Workshop Recruitment is seeking an experienced Carpenter for a busy housing maintenance contract in Fareham. You will work mainly on void properties, with potential progression to daily repairs. Temporary minimum two months, with chance to go permanent.

40 hours Mon-Fri, £26 per hour, own van and tools required. Responsibilities include completing responsive and void repairs, first and second fix carpentry, doors, frames, ironmongery, tiling, kitchen works, and maintaining tidy work areas.

Qualifications

• 25 years relevant carpentry or building maintenance experience.
• NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry or equivalent, or demonstrable trade experience.
• Strong knowledge of building materials, methods and repair techniques.
• Competent across a wide range of carpentry repairs.
• Own van and tools.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and manage allocated jobs.
• Experience in social housing or residential maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete responsive, routine and void property carpentry repairs.
• Carry out first and second fix carpentry work.
• Fit and repair doors, frames, ironmongery and associated timberwork.
• Complete kitchen installation and repair works.
• Undertake ceramic wall tiling and vinyl floor tiling where required.
• Protect residents property and leave work areas clean and tidy.
• Take ownership of allocated jobs through to completion.
• Maintain accurate records and complete works safely and efficiently.
