Job summary

London and Quadrant Housing Trust in London is seeking a Multi-Trade Carpenter for a permanent, full-time role based in South London. You will perform wide-ranging carpentry and maintenance tasks across occupied properties, including doors, bathroom subfloors, kitchens, and more, while delivering strong customer service to residents.

Ideal candidates will have carpentry experience in housing maintenance, NVQ or equivalent, and a proactive, safety-conscious mindset.

Qualifications

• Strong carpentry trade knowledge and practical experience.
• Experience in housing maintenance or construction.
• NVQ or equivalent trade qualification preferred.
• Excellent customer service and residents relations.
• Proactive, first-time-right approach to repairs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good Health and Safety understanding.
• Full UK manual driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a broad range of carpentry and maintenance repairs across occupied properties.
• Complete internal and external door fitting and repairs.
• Undertake splice repairs, general locksmith work, and lock repairs and replacements.
• Repair and replace bathroom subfloors, bath panels, and associated frameworks.
• Carry out kitchen repairs and refits.
• Complete a variety of general maintenance and multi-trade repairs.
• Ideally undertake internal and external window repairs, including single and double glazing where possible.
• Provide excellent customer service as a key point of contact for residents.
• Work safely and in line with Health and Safety standards at all times.

Working Location: South London

Persona: Mobile worker - contractual hours to be worked from various locations such as resident homes with ad hoc office attendance as required

Join Our Maintenance Team

Our South London in-house maintenance team is looking for an experienced Multi-Trade Carpenter to join the team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a busy and well-established team, carrying out a wide range of repairs and maintenance work across our housing stock in and around Lambeth and Southwark.

Your Impact in the Role

As a Multi-Trade Carpenter, you will:

• Carry out a broad range of carpentry and maintenance repairs across occupied properties
• Complete internal and external door fitting and repairs.

• Repair and replace bathroom subfloors, bath panels, and associated frameworks.
• Carry out kitchen repairs and refits.
• Complete a variety of general maintenance and multi-trade repairs.
• Ideally undertake internal and external window repairs, including single and double glazing repairs if this is within your skill set.
• Provide excellent customer service as a key point of contact for residents.
• Work safely and in line with Health and Safety standards at all times.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with opportunities to earn additional income through call-out and out-of-hours work.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who has:

• Strong carpentry trade knowledge and practical experience.
• Experience working within a housing maintenance, building maintenance, or construction environment.
• An NVQ qualification or equivalent trade experience (preferred).
• The ability to deliver excellent customer service and build positive relationships with residents.
• A proactive, right first-time approach to repairs and maintenance.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A good understanding of Health and Safety requirements.
• A full UK manual driving licence.
