Job summary

Workshop Recruitment is seeking an experienced Carpenter to join a well-established social housing maintenance contractor in the Havant area. You will carry out reactive repairs and planned maintenance across occupied and void properties, covering all carpentry and joinery tasks with pride and customer focus.

You should have strong carpentry skills, a full UK driving licence and be able to work independently within a 20 mile radius of Havant. References will be required from previous employers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Carpenter within property maintenance.
• Strong carpentry and joinery skills covering all first- and second-fix work.
• Experience carrying out reactive repairs and planned maintenance.
• Ability to work in occupied and void properties professionally and respectfully.
• Multi-trade skills (plumbing, tiling, painting) would be beneficial.
• Good problem-solving and the ability to manage workloads independently.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all aspects of carpentry and joinery repairs across social housing properties.
• Complete reactive maintenance jobs, diagnosing faults and providing effective repairs.
• Undertake planned maintenance, property improvements and refurbishment works.
• Fit and repair doors, door frames, skirting boards, architraves, flooring and other timber components.
• Carry out kitchen and bathroom carpentry, including fitting units, worktops and associated fixtures.
• Complete repairs to cupboards, windows, locks, hinges and other carpentry fittings.
• Undertake making-good works and minor additional maintenance tasks where required.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and deliver excellent customer service in residents' homes.
