Job description

Job Title: Carpenter Multi Trade

Join our Complex Works Fortem team with Amplius Housing Repairs as a Carpenter Multi Trade. This role involves complex property repairs and maintenance across social housing properties from Peterborough to Rushden, Northamptonshire, and surrounding areas. Travel is essential.

Working Hours

Core hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, plus a generous on-call rota.

Role Responsibilities

• Carrying out repairs and maintenance to social housing properties, ensuring high standards with minimal supervision.
• Performing carpentry, tiling, full re-fitting, basic plumbing, etc.
• Taking ownership of work with a focus on 'First time Fix', operating within health and safety guidelines, and adhering to budget and time constraints.

About the Client

Fortem's contract with Amplius supports nearly 8,000 houses, with plans to expand in 2025. The contract includes repairs & maintenance, voids, complex works, and FRA workstreams, with future plans for planned works and preventative maintenance.

Key Duties

• Complete work as per specifications within set deadlines.
• Notify supervisors when additional trades are needed.
• Collaborate with other operatives to complete projects.
• Accurately record and submit data using electronic devices.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Plan and purchase materials efficiently.
• Comply with safeguarding and H&S policies.
• Operate within occupational road risk policies.
• Use PDA smartphones for daily communication and updates.

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

• NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent, or qualified by experience.
• Strong carpentry, basic plumbing, bathroom/kitchen fitting, and tiling skills.
• Full UK driving license (max 5 points).
• No driving bans in the last 5 years.

Desirable: Experience in social housing.
