Job summary

STR Group Limited in Southampton is recruiting an experienced Carpenter to join our responsive repairs team on a full-time, permanent basis. You’ll carry out carpentry repairs in our properties, with a company van and fuel card provided.

You’ll work across responsive repairs and empty homes as required, performing 1st and 2nd fix carpentry, installing windows and doors, UPVC servicing, locksmithing, and fire-door maintenance. Travel-friendly role with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry or equivalent requirement.
• Minimum 5 years proven carpentry experience.
• Valid full driving licence with at least 2 years of driving history.
• Experience in residential/housing sector is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out 1st and 2nd fix carpentry repairs across properties.
• Install windows, doors, and frames (internal and external).
• UPVC servicing and installation.
• Locksmithing tasks and gaining entry as required.
• Repair fire doors and frames and adjacent fire-rated components.
• Perform fire-stopping carpentry in line with regulations.

A client of mine who is a Large Housing Association and Property Maintenance Company are looking to Recruit an experienced Carpenter-Multion a full time permanent basis to join their Team in Southampton.As you\'ll spend a fair amount of time on the road they will provide you with a van and fuel card so you\'ll not be out of pocket.

What you\'ll do:

As a Carpenter you will carry out all forms of carpentry repairs in our properties as part of our Responsive Repairs Teamor Empty Homes Team and elsewhere depending on demands.

• 1st fix and 2nd fix carpentry
• Install windows, doors, door frames - Internal and external.
• UPVC servicing and installation
• Locksmithing and gaining entry via lock snapping, drilling and picking.
• Repair fire doors, frames, and other fire-rated components
• Undertake fire stopping carpentry works in accordance with regulations

What you\'ll need:

You should have experience within a similar role, ideally from within a Residential/Housing sector and must be qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 2 OR have a minimum of 5 years proven track record working in carpentry.

Due to the requirement to travel, you must hold a full and current driving licence with a minimum of 2 years experience and have the ability to drive and take home a company van.
