Job summary

Gov Facilities Services Limited (GFSL) seeks a Carpenter Locksmith to join the team at HMP The Mount, Hemel Hempstead. The role involves working alongside skilled trades to maintain secure facilities, operate power tools, and uphold safety standards in a prison environment.

The position is full-time and permanent, with a salary of £39,195.77–£41,062.25 plus a 5% weekend shift allowance. Benefits include holiday leave, private medical support, and employee assistance programs.

Qualifications

• Substantiated experience in a similar role.
• Competency with the use and operation of all associated power tools and machinery.
• Basic IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements.
• Up to date First Aid at Work Qualification.
• City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry or equivalent qualification or substantial experience.
• Good Health & Safety knowledge.
