Job summary

Mountjoy specialises in providing professional construction services across the south of England. We are offering a Carpentry Apprentice position supporting skilled tradespeople and working towards a Level 2 Site Carpentry apprenticeship over two years.

You will work with a mentor for four days each week and attend college one day per week at South Hampshire College, gaining hands-on experience in repairs, maintenance and installation within university housing and estates.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and maths grade 4/C or above (or Level 2 functional skills) are preferred.
• There will be an expectation that by the end of the apprenticeship you hold a full UK Driving Licence.
• Have previously completed a full-time Level 2 Site Carpentry course (Desirable).

Responsibilities

• Accountable for safety of yourself and those around you in the workplace, ensuring environmental consciousness.
• Purchase tools throughout your apprenticeship to enable you to perform your role on completion of your apprenticeship.
• Always remain polite and professional.
• Live Mountjoy ethos and values with everyone you deal or engage with.
• Punctual in both work and college settings, including completing coursework on time.
• Have a real interest in Carpentry type work.
