Job summary

MadiganGill are seeking an experienced Carpenter to join a college in Cinderford, GL14, to teach and mentor Carpentry apprentices and help them develop practical skills on real site projects.

No teaching qualification is required to apply; we will support you through the relevant Further Education teaching qualification, DBS checks will be arranged, and ongoing professional development will be provided. This is a great move away from full-time site work, passing knowledge to the next generation.

Qualifications

• Strong carpentry background with site experience.
• Ability to pass knowledge to learners.
• Good communication and people skills.
• Willingness to gain teaching qualification.
• Experience mentoring or supervisory roles is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Teaching and mentoring Carpentry apprentices
• Delivering classroom-based and practical carpentry training
• Sharing knowledge from working on construction sites
• Delivering a structured scheme of work
• Teaching theory-to-site applications
• Supporting practical training and development
• Teaching safe working practices and health & safety
• Helping apprentices develop carpentry and joinery skills
• Teaching construction methods, materials and correct use of tools and equipment
• Supporting apprentices with measuring, setting out, cutting and installation
• Helping apprentices understand drawings, specifications and construction techniques
