We are seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our team at HMP Winchester, a category B adult male local prison. The role offers a salary of £36,678.26 per annum, on a permanent, full-time basis, working 39 hours per week.

The Facilities Maintenance Team plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the prison, which functions like a self-contained city. You will work alongside passionate colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Painters, and more, all dedicated to maintaining a safe and secure environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine preventative maintenance
• Respond to reactive maintenance requests
• Collaborate with team members to ensure safety and quality standards

Qualifications and Skills:

• Formal qualification such as NVQ or City and Guilds Level 2, or significant relevant experience
• Knowledge of current best practices, safety standards, and materials
• Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing priorities
• Reliable, honest, and resilient character
