Job summary

MD Group Ltd – Oxford & Swindon is seeking an enthusiastic Carpenter to deliver high-quality carpentry work for a large social housing provider. You will repair and maintain homes, completing tasks efficiently in a single visit.

The role requires a main trade qualification and a strong focus on customer service, with a fixed 40-hour week, van, fuel card and uniform provided. Opportunities for progression exist within the expanding group.

Qualifications

• One main trade qualification (NVQ 2/3 or City & Guilds) or time-served trades experience.
• Current Health & Safety Training certificates (Asbestos Awareness, Working at Height, Manual Handling, Risk Assessments).
• Recent experience in social housing and delivering high-quality services.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a range of carpentry repairs in Swindon and Oxford areas, ensuring completion in a single visit.
• Maintain high safety standards and comply with company policies and building regulations.
• Liaise with customers and the housing provider to assess needs and plan works efficiently.

Do you have previous experience in Social Housing? Are you committed to putting the customer at the heart of what you do? Reporting to our Swindon office, we are looking for an enthusiastic Carpenter to provide high quality work to support our business and its values to work in and around the Oxford area.

Our Carpenter will receive:

• £18.20 per hour (£37,856 annually)
• Fixed 40 hour week
• 20 days holiday a year + BH’s
• Van, Fuel Card & Uniform
• Length of service bonuses
• Pension

The Carpenter Role:

We are working with a large social housing provider in Oxford & Swindon and and have an opportunity for a Carpenter. The successful candidate will need a specialism in Carpentry, but it is key that they can complete a variety of tasks to ensure that repairs/orders can be completed in a single visit.

• One main trade qualification (or time served trades experience) e.g. NVQ 2, NVQ 3, City & Guilds
• Current Health & Safety Training certificates (including, but not limited to, Asbestos Awareness, Working at Height, Manual Handling & Risk Assessments)
• An understanding and be able to use effectively (after training) equipment and processes which may be reasonably required by the Company
• Recent experience working in social housing
• Experience and a passion for delivering high-quality services to a diverse range of customers
