Job summary

HSB Technical Ltd is recruiting an experienced Carpenter / Outfitter to work on a marine vessel in Portland, Dorset. The role requires marine experience and the ability to fit exterior components and interior furniture to a high standard.

You will read technical drawings, cut and install insulation where required, and complete final installations safely. The position offers a two-month contract with a rate of £25 per hour and a 60-hour week.

Qualifications

• Must have previous marine experience.
• Experience working on yachts or marine vessels.
• NVQ Level 3 in Boatbuilding or Carpentry or equivalent apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Fit marine components such as cleats, handrails, windows, hatches and flooring.
• Complete final installation and finishing of interior furniture.
• Carry out outfitting work on marine refit and new-build projects.
• Read and work accurately from technical drawings.
• Measure, drill and secure hardware using hand/power tools.
• Install insulation where required and ensure safe, high-quality workmanship.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Carpenter / Outfitter to work on a marine vessel in Portland. The successful candidate will have previous marine experience and be confident fitting both exterior components and interior furniture to a high standard.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Fitting marine components, including cleats, handrails, windows, hatches, stanchions and flooring.
• Completing the final installation and finishing of interior furniture.
• Carrying out outfitting work on marine refit and new-build projects.
• Reading and working accurately from technical drawings.
• Measuring, drilling and securing hardware, hatches and other components using hand and power tools.
• Measuring, cutting and installing insulation within designated areas of the vessel where required.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to the highest standard.

Qualifications and requirements:

• Previous experience working within the marine industry.
• Experience working on yachts or other marine vessels.
• NVQ Level 3 in Boatbuilding or Carpentry, or completion of a relevant apprenticeship.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship.
