Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Carpenter to join our team at Swissotel Doha, Qatar. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for a wide range of carpentry tasks, ensuring the upkeep and enhancement of our facilities. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your craftsmanship and contribute to the overall guest experience.

  • Perform various carpentry tasks, including repairing and replacing doors, windows, furniture, cabinetry, flooring, and other wooden structures
  • Construct and install fixtures, fittings, and other wooden elements according to blueprints and specifications
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential carpentry issues, preventing costly repairs and ensuring the longevity of assets
  • Fabricate custom woodwork for various needs, such as decorative elements, signage, and special event setups
  • Sand, stain, varnish, and paint wood surfaces to achieve high-quality finishes
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, maintaining a safe working environment
  • Collaborate closely with other maintenance team members and departments to ensure timely and efficient completion of tasks
  • Maintain accurate records of materials used and assist in ordering supplies as needed
  • Interact professionally and courteously with guests and staff when necessary
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests related to carpentry

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Carpenter, with hospitality experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Efficient time management and task prioritization abilities
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform carpentry tasks
  • Keen attention to detail and precision in workmanship
  • Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations
  • Thorough understanding of safety regulations and procedures in carpentry
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules
