  • Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus two years of experience as a journeyman carpenter.
  • Experience may substitute for education up to four (4) years.
Licenses or Certifications
  • Texas Class C Operator’s License or ability to obtain one within 90 calendar days of hire.

Pay Range

$22.22 – $24.77

Hours

8-hour shift: Monday – Friday, between 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Schedule may vary. On call and overtime work may be required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in commercial or municipal carpentry, including framing, drywall, and finish work.
  • Knowledge of building codes, ADA requirements, and OSHA safety standards.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Skilled in using carpentry tools, concrete formwork, and woodworking.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in fast-paced, service-oriented environments.
Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities

Essential duties include performing skilled carpentry work, operating tools, installing and repairing structures, reading blueprints, recording data, and measuring materials. Other related duties may be assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must possess knowledge of materials, equipment, procedures, building codes, safety practices, and blueprints. Skills in estimating, establishing relationships, and operating city vehicles and equipment are required.
