Hays are looking for an experienced joiner to work with a national FM contractor based in Edinburgh. This role is crucial in ensuring multiple commercial buildings' fabric is maintained to the highest standards, contributing to a safe and comfortable environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Your role

You will join the on-site trade team working within various building types across Edinburgh City Centre. Duties include:

  • Inspecting & repairing doors, windows, and frames to ensure security and insulation.
  • Creating or adjusting partitions and rooms to meet the facility's needs.
  • Ensuring carpentry work complies with safety standards and regulations.
  • Sanding, painting, varnishing, or treating wood surfaces.
  • Constructing bespoke items like display boards, storage units, or lab benches.
  • Collaborating with electricians, plumbers, and other professionals on renovation or maintenance projects.
  • Assessing and addressing wear and tear of wooden structures and furnishings.
What you'll need to succeed

Qualified joiners with valid trade qualifications or strong references. A valid UK Driving Licence is required as a company van will be provided. Strong customer service skills and the ability to work with diverse members of the public are essential.
