Surrey Independent Living Charity in Haslemere is seeking a caring, reliable Support Worker to help Emily live independently. The role involves practical daily tasks, meal prep, hydration, light housekeeping, and companionship in a private home. You will work 10 hours per week with flexible timings, including a Wednesday slot.

Previous care experience is essential, and knowledge of autism or ME is helpful. A cat in the home is part of the environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a care or support role is essential
• Knowledge of severe M.E. and/or autism is desirable, or a willingness to learn
• Confident working in a home with a cat

Responsabilités

• Preparing, cooking, reheating and serving low FODMAP meals
• Prompting and encouraging eating and hydration
• Refilling water bottles and jugs
• Household tasks including making and changing the bed, light cleaning and organising, loading/unloading the dishwasher
• Supporting with some personal care (as required)
• Monitoring general wellbeing and reporting concerns
• Providing companionship and conversation
