Job summary

Warrington Disability Partnership is seeking a Female Personal Assistant to support a delightful 6-year-old girl with Global Developmental Delay and associated needs in Culcheth. The role offers 3 hours per week (preferably Sundays) at £13.45 per hour, with potential to combine hours into longer sessions as routines establish.

Due to the child’s anxiety around males, female applicants only are invited. The successful candidate will provide one-to-one support at home and in the local community,

Qualifications

• Patient, calm, caring and understanding.
• Able to build trusting, positive relationship at the child’s pace.
• Comfortable supporting a child with physical, communication and feeding difficulties.
• Committed to promoting independence and a positive can-do approach.
• Reliable, flexible and adaptable to the child’s needs.
• Paediatric First Aid training is desirable.
• A driver with access to a vehicle would be advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Supporting play and activities within the family home.
• Supporting access to community-based activities and outings.
• Accompanying and supporting walks, bike rides and visits to local parks.
• Encouraging communication, confidence, independence and resilience.
• Providing calm, attentive and reassuring supervision.
• Supporting with toileting and personal care.
• Supporting with feeding and mealtime activities.
• Promoting the child’s safety, wellbeing and enjoyment at all times.
