Job summary

Penderels Trust is seeking a compassionate Care Assistant to support a 62-year-old lady in Sunderland in a fixed-term maternity cover role. The position runs a night shift pattern of 4 nights on and 4 nights off (10pm–8am), 40 hours per week, in the client’s home.

Qualifications

• Previous caring experience is essential.
• Be 18+ years old due to medication administration.
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain confidentiality.
• Moving and handling experience is beneficial; equipment provided.

Responsibilities

• Support and/or prompt with personal care including toileting and bathing.
• Assist with cooking/meal preparation and eating.
• Administer daily medications as required.
• Help with household chores and general homemaking.
• Report accidents or hazards to the employer immediately.
