Job summary

William Shrewsbury Primary School seeks a Lunchtime Supervisor to oversee pupils during lunch breaks across the dining hall and outdoor areas. You will help promote positive play, ensure safety, and model respectful behaviour in a busy school setting.

The role is term-time only, 6.25 hours per week at £12.65 per hour, typically 38 weeks per year. A friendly, proactive team player with good literacy and basic computing skills is ideal.

Qualifications

• Effective communicator with a good standard of literacy and computer skills.
• Able to develop a positive relationship with pupils and staff.
• Experience working with children in a school setting (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils during lunch breaks in the dining hall, playground, and other areas.
• Encourage positive play and social interaction.
• Promote good behaviour and follow school policies.
• Build strong, trusting connections with pupils to promote emotional wellbeing and a sense of belonging.
• Support the school's culture and values by modelling respectful, kind and calm communication.
• Assist with setting up and clearing the dining area as needed.
• Liaise effectively with teaching and support staff regarding any lunchtime concerns or observations that need follow-up.
