Job summary

Bradbury Grange care home in Whitstable is looking for a reliable Laundry Assistant to join the MHA team. You will operate laundry equipment, sort, wash, dry and iron residents’ clothing, and keep the laundry area clean and safe, respecting privacy and infection control guidelines.

The role is part-time (10 hours/week) with a competitive hourly rate of £13.45. Applicants should live within about 15 miles of the service and bring good communication, organisation and a flexible approach.

Qualifications

• Previous laundry experience is desirable.
• Good communication and listening skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and prioritise tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate laundry equipment safely and in line with training.
• Sort, wash, dry and iron residents’ clothing, bedding and linen.
• Safely manage infected laundry and prevent cross-contamination.
• Distribute clean laundry to residents’ rooms and linen cupboards.
• Carry out basic mending and identify items requiring dry cleaning.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the laundry area.
