Sanctuary Care is seeking a Catering Assistant in St Austell, Cornwall, to help prepare and serve nutritious meals for residents at Trevarna Residential and Nursing Home. You will join a friendly kitchen team in a calm, well-organised environment, with no late nights or split shifts.

We offer 28 days leave, sick pay, a contributory pension, and training opportunities within a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to staff and resident wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Caring, enthusiastic approach with a genuine interest in older people.
• Good teamwork and willingness to support colleagues.
• Understanding of safe food handling and cleaning practices.
• Previous catering experience and a food hygiene certificate, or willingness to work towards one.
• Clear communication skills and a flexible approach.

Responsibilities

• Support the catering team with basic food preparation and meal service
• Present and serve meals to a high standard for residents

• Keep kitchen and dining areas clean, safe and welcoming
