Job summary

Avery Healthcare in Cobham is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant on a bank/relief basis to support the catering team in food preparation and maintaining hygiene. You will work to high standards, contributing to safe, quality meals for residents.

You must hold Basic Food Hygiene, understand Health and Safety, Moving and Handling, and COSHH requirements; show initiative, teamwork, and a caring attitude toward residents. DBS check and UK work eligibility required.

Qualifications

• Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety standards including Moving & Handling, Fire Safety and COSHH.
• Efficient worker, able to handle a demanding workload.

Responsibilities

• Understand the principles of safe food handling to maintain hygiene.
• Contribute to team working and respond to colleagues and instructions.
• Advise on supply and quality of items, ensuring timely replacement orders.
• Act with care towards residents and their visitors, respecting dignity.
