Job summary

Bradbury Grange care home in Whitstable is seeking a reliable Domestic Assistant (Relief) to join MHA’s team. You will maintain cleanliness across residents’ rooms and communal areas, ensuring privacy and dignity while following COSHH and safety rules.

The role involves a 7-day rota, working within a supportive environment that values respect, nurture and inspire. Training, DBS checks and ongoing development are provided by MHA.

Qualifications

• Experience in domestic or cleaning work is desirable.
• Ability to work well in a team and use own initiative.
• Good communication and listening skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and prioritise tasks.
• Sensitivity to the needs of older people.
• Flexible 7-day rota.
• QCF Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care is desirable but not essential, training provided.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of residents’ rooms, bathrooms, offices and communal areas.
• Carry out cleaning tasks in line with schedules, including carpet cleaning where required.
• Respect residents’ privacy and dignity at all times.
• Use and store cleaning equipment safely in line with COSHH requirements.
• Report faulty equipment, hazards or damage to a senior colleague.
• Attend training, staff meetings, supervisions and appraisals as required.
• Follow MHA policies including health & safety, infection prevention and safeguarding.
