Job summary

PrimeLife Ltd is seeking a Cook for a care home in Shepshed, Leicestershire. The role involves preparing meals for residents, following dietary needs, and ensuring a dignified dining experience. The position offers regular shifts over a 7-day week and a DBS will be funded.

The ideal candidate will have a caring nature and be prepared to work as part of a dedicated team, with training supported by the company for relevant food safety qualifications.

Qualifications

• Candidate should have a genuine caring nature and be patient and respectful toward residents.
• Experience as a cook in care/food service is beneficial.
• A Food Hygiene or Catering qualification is preferred, with Prime Life offering training if needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals, snacks and beverages following residents' dietary requirements.
• Carry out quality checks on food and storage.
• Plan menus in line with residents' preferences.
• Assist with food service to ensure dignified dining for residents.
• Maintain stock records and order supplies.
• Keep kitchen hygienic and tidy and assist with deep cleaning.
