Job summary

Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Catering Assistant to support the preparation, presentation and service of food across our catering outlets, helping maintain high hygiene standards and a welcoming environment for patients, families, staff and visitors.

Reporting into the Hotel Services Manager, you will join a dedicated catering team, contributing to infection control and food safety while delivering compassionate service in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or food preparation in a retail catering environment
• Level 2 qualification in Maths and English or equivalent experience
• Food hygiene certificate desirable (or willing to complete during induction)

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food and drinks to a high standard
• Maintain cleanliness in food prep and retail areas, including dishwashing and equipment storage
• Monitor and record food storage temperatures and stock levels
• Follow COSHH regulations and food hygiene standards, and support infection control procedures
