Job summary

Supply Hive Wales is seeking an enthusiastic ALN support worker for a 1:1 role in Newport. You will provide tailored support to a pupil throughout the school day, assist with learning activities and help develop social and behavioural skills.

You will collaborate with teachers, ALNCo/SENCo, other staff and parents to meet individual needs. The ideal candidate will have experience with children in school or childcare, a patient and empathetic approach, and strong communication skills to follow

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in school or childcare.
• Patient, nurturing and empathetic approach.
• Ability to follow support plans and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil throughout the school day.
• Assist with academic learning and engagement in lessons.
• Support the child's social, emotional and behavioural development.
• Work collaboratively with class teachers, ALNCo/SENCo, support staff and parents.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive learning behaviours.
