Job summary

Munich Re Specialty – Global Markets (MRS-GM) is seeking a junior Cargo & Freight Underwriter based in Birmingham on a full-time basis. Responsibilities

• Assess and process new business, renewals and mid-term adjustments within delegated authority levels.
• Develop and apply knowledge of Cargo & Freight insurance products, underwriting principles and risk assessment.
• Build relationships with brokers delivering high-standard service and responsiveness.
• Gather, review and analyse underwriting information to support sound decisions and profitable portfolio.
• Plan and manage workload to support team responsibilities efficiently.
• Participate in broker meetings, training sessions and market activities to grow knowledge.
• Contribute ideas to improve processes and service delivery across the Cargo & Freight team.
• Take ownership of personal development, building underwriting knowledge and market awareness.
