Job summary

Student Roost is seeking a part-time caretaker for Merchant Apartments in Glasgow. The role involves building maintenance, safety compliance, and escorting contractors. You will help ensure a safe, well-maintained living environment for student residents and report on issues with precision.

Average 18.75 hours per week, 4 days out of 7, 8am–8pm. Salary £13,113.75 per annum. DBS check required. DBS check and a friendly, proactive attitude are essential to thrive in our caring team.

• Committed to Health and Safety and following processes.
• Resilient with ability to handle messy tasks (drains, bin stores).
• Able to think on your feet and find practical solutions.
• Electrical training provided; additional maintenance quals welcome but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out building maintenance and minor repairs.
• Escort third-party contractors to issues within the building.
• Lead on compliance checks with accurate reporting.
• Support debt management and safety related tasks.

Location: Merchant Apartments, Glasgow Salary: £13,113.75 per annum (£13.45 per hour)

Hours: Average of 18.75 hours per week, working 4 days out of 7, 8am to 8pm.

As a caretaker at Student Roost, you are involved in all aspects of building maintenance, from carrying out small repairs to escorting third-party contractors to any issues within your building. You will also take the lead on compliance checks with your keen eye for detail and precise reporting skills. And just as you care for our buildings and the people within them, we'll take care of you.
