Job summary

Cornwall Staff Agency Ltd is assisting a multi academy trust to recruit a caretaker to cover Redruth, Bodmin, St Austell, Liskeard and Dartington. Two positions are available; 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday 2pm-6pm; 52 weeks per year. A company van is provided and the role is permanent.

You will be responsible for caretaking and site maintenance, basic repairs, door/lock duties and assisting staff with equipment as required.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driving license and own vehicle.
• Must hold an in-date Enhanced DBS – Child Barred.
• IT literacy and ability to use Teams and reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Caretaking and maintenance of school sites to required standards including basic repairs.
• Carpentry/maintenance skills desirable to assist with daily repairs and upkeep.
• Be a key holder including call-outs and locking/unlocking routines.
• Perform tasks as directed by line manager or principal.
• Support staff with provision of equipment (tables, chairs, flip charts, etc.).

Job description

Our client a multi academy trust is seeking a caretaker to join their team on an permanent basis covering multiple academies Redruth, Bodmin, St Austell, Liskeard and Dartington.

Two positions are available and areas will be discussed at the interview stage.

Work vehicle is provided

What we offer:

• £14,765 - £16,295 per annum.
• Monday - Friday -2pm - 6pm / Times to be discussed - 52 weeks a year.
• 20H per week.
• Permanent role.
• Company van provided.

The role:

• Caretaking and maintenance of the school sites to the required standard, to include compliance checks, general repairs, low level grounds maintenance and portering.
• Carpentry / General maintenance skill set desirable to assist with daily repairs and maintenance.
• Key holder responsibilities including call out in emergencies and locking and unlocking routines.
• Performance of caretaking and maintenance tasks as directed by your Line manager or the principal.
• Supporting and assisting school staff with provision of required equipment, i.e. tables, chairs, flip charts etc.

Requirements:

• Must be able to drive and have your own vehicle.
• Must have an indate enhanced DBS - Child barring.
• Some tools are provided but would be beneficial if you have your own.
• Safety boots required.
• Experience of maintenance.
• Basic understanding of electrical work, carpentry and plumbing.
• IT Literate - To be able to use teams and systems which reports defects.
