The Supply Register Ltd. is seeking a part-time Caretaker to support a school network across multiple sites in Plymouth. The role involves efficient caretaking, site maintenance and secure premises management with travel between sites required.

Expected hours are afternoons, approximately 2:30pm to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday. Candidates should have some caretaking or facilities experience, a full driving licence, and be prepared for safeguarding checks and right-to-work verification.

Caretaker - Multi-Site

Location: Plymouth

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: Approx. 2:30pm-6:30pm, Monday to Friday - flexible for the right candidate

Contract: Temporary with potential for longer-term work

We are currently recruiting for a Caretaker to support a school across multiple sites in Plymouth.

The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to maintain a safe, clean and secure environment across the school sites, with travel between sites required.

The Role:

• General caretaking and site maintenance duties
• Ensuring school premises are safe, secure and well maintained
• Carrying out basic maintenance and repairs where required
• Supporting with the opening and closing of sites
• Moving between school sites as required
• Responding to general site issues and ensuring a high standard of presentation
• Working flexibly as part of the wider school team

The school can be flexible around hours, with afternoons being preferred, ideally around 2:30pm-6:30pm. Please note that children are on site between approximately 8:30am and 2:30pm, so some caretaking tasks may be limited during the school day.

Previous caretaking, facilities, maintenance or site experience would be advantageous. A full driving licence and ability to travel between sites is also preferred.

Requirements & Vetting

• As this is a school-based position, all candidates will be required to complete the necessary recruitment and safeguarding checks, including:
• Minimum of 2 employer references covering the previous 24 months
• If you have not worked with children previously, 3 references will be required
• Any employment gaps will require a professional character reference
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service preferred; otherwise, you must be willing to obtain a new Enhanced DBS
• Right to Work documentation
• 2 proofs of address (e.g. utility bill or bank statement dated within the last 3 months, or council tax dated within the last 12 months)
• Proof of National Insurance number
• Proof of any name changes, where applicable
• Overseas police check if you have lived outside the UK for more than 6 months
• Completion of our online mandatory training courses, which are provided free of charge
