Job summary

Sandwich Infant in Margate is seeking a proactive site maintenance person to join our friendly team. You will work 37 hours per week (Mon–Thu 6am–1:30pm, Fri 6am–1pm) starting September 2026, with 26 days holiday plus bank holidays.

You will maintain our school environment under the Site Manager, ensuring a safe, clean space for pupils, staff and visitors. Experience in building and maintenance trades and a willingness to engage with school life are desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience in the building and maintenance trades.
• Experience in a school environment is an advantage.
• Enjoy working in a friendly team with a positive attitude.
• Clear communication with adults and children.
• Positive role model to pupils.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the school site and provide an efficient, professional service.
• Ensure a safe, clean environment for staff, parents and visitors.

Salary Scale: KSB

Full Time - 37 hours per week, 26 days holiday + the bank holidays (the expectation is that this is to be taken during the school holidays)

Mon – Thurs 6am - 1:30pm

Fri – 6am - 1pm

You will be working under the direction of our very experienced Site Manager to maintain our lovely school and to provide an efficient professional service that supports the learning of all of our pupils and provides a safe, clean environment for our staff, parents and visitors.

A willingness to become involved with other areas of school life would be welcomed too.

• You have experience of working in a school environment although this is not essential
